I’m so excited to share my little mossy antler mount with you guys today! This project has taken weeks, if not months to complete. Not because it was hard. Mostly because I just didn’t really know what I wanted to do with it at first, so it took a while to figure out. It was actually sitting on top of our fridge for a couple weeks and my brother was over at one point and asked what the heck I was doing with half-finished antlers…on top of my fridge! I just needed a vision and it hadn’t come to me yet, so there they sat.
And now that they’re done? I just love them! I’ve been leaning toward a more rustic style in some of my design choices lately and this deer mount fits that perfectly. And can we just talk about that moss for a second? It adds such a fun take to a very traditional decor piece. Plus, I’ve realized that I love little touches of greenery around the house and this just totally fits the bill! The texture and color that the moss adds is just right. It just gives the antlers that pop of interest.
Our new deer antler mount fits perfectly on our DIY shiplap wall, don’t you think? We’re thinking about possibly throwing a frame around the mount, too, to fill out the space a bit more, but for now I don’t mind it up there by itself.
I’ll be back soon with a full tutorial, but I couldn’t wait to give you a sneak peek today! Have a great day!
