When I put together my Christmas tour, I felt a little strapped for time and therefore a little stressed and less creative. I feel like I made the best of it and it turned out just fine, but I just wasn’t “feeling it”.
After my tour went live, I felt like I could finally relax. I was done with all the hard work. It was time to enjoy it. And sleep!
I’m pretty much done with actual decorating for Christmas. But in the past few days I’ve had a jolt of creativity here and there, so I jumped on it and added a couple more things. Not for anyone but myself. And that feels so good.
So, even though my mom is probably cringing looking at my unmade bed, I thought I’d share it with you. I added a simple plaid bow to my preserved boxwood wreath (a gift from Marian aka Miss Mustard Seed when I met her for the first time last year) that still looks great even though I can’t seem to remember to spray it.
The bed got a couple red checked pillows – both from Ikea. One is a pillow and the other is actually a seat cushion. At least that’s what the hubby says. I was too focused on the cuteness of it to care what it was, it was coming home with me!
I also bought some cedar greenery from Home Depot the other day. I feel like I’ve seen it on a million blogs this holiday season and I just can’t get enough of it. One of my friends said she saw some at HD, so I picked up a couple bundles.
And plopped some of them in these cute white vintage pitchers I picked up from the antique store. I’m kind of in love with these little guys. (Side note – I just realized in the picture below, there’s a little artistic touch of green and red marker on my table. Hmmm, wonder who did that?!)
I really enjoyed just relaxing and setting up these shots. I get that creative feeling every now and then and I just need to create – whether it be an actual project or just setting up beautiful shots. The blood just starts pumping and I have to do something!
And those projects, the ones with absolutely no pressure, feel the best!
