Can you even believe Christmas is almost here?! I was just sitting here thinking how excited I am to watch my kids open their presents! That’s always the best part for me! We got to spend time with family and friends this weekend and it was just perfect. We didn’t get to do much for Thanksgiving, so I’m really living up every second I can get with loved ones during the holidays!
This past summer, I picked up this great bench at a local flea market. It was a scorching hot day and I was kind of over it before it started, but we did end up finding a few things that day! This bench has so much character and I knew I had to have it when I laid eyes on it. It obviously needed a little update, but I could see its potential.
I started by taking the top off and removing the fabric and buttons. Here’s a shot of the staples! My favorite way to remove staples is to pry them up with a straight slot screwdriver and then pulling them out with a pliers. It usually goes pretty quickly.
I didn’t do a full tutorial for this one, but you can see my tutorial for tufting here. I updated a tufted chair last year and it was basically the same process. I even used the same paint color and very similar fabric! I figured I loved the combination so much the first time, why not just go with it?!
I hope you have a very Merry Christmas and get to enjoy this season with loved ones!
