I hope you’re all doing well! We finally got a little snow yesterday – the big fluffy flakes kind – so I’m pretty happy about that! 😉
Today I’m sharing an easy Christmas craft for the 25 days of Christmas event. I am so excited to be a part of this awesome group of bloggers all sharing their own Christmas inspired crafts, decor, and recipes! Jessica from Dear Emmeline has really outdone herself. She not only put this whole event together, she also has her own Christmas posts going up every other day! Be sure to head over to her blog to see the fun interactive calendar with links to everyone’s posts!
So, earlier this week, I shared a picture of the boxwood wreath above our bed. I love my boxwood wreath, so I thought it would be cute to do a faux boxwood wreath pillow!
This project was super easy, just took a bit of time.
First, I cut out about 100 leaves from this really pretty green and gold polka dot fabric. That was the most time consuming part.
After the cover was made it was time to apply my “leaves”. I drew a light circle in the middle of the pillow so I would have a line to follow when I attached my first ring of fabric leaves. Then I just hot glued and hot glued some more until all the leaves were in place!
I made a quick bow out of navy ribbon and attached that with hot glue, too. I don’t plan on ever washing this pillow, so I’m okay with the hot glue! 🙂
I love that the pillow has a wintery feel to it, but it doesn’t scream Christmas. I definitely think it can stick around for another couple months!
And now for a comparison.
Real boxwood wreath …
Fake or “faux” boxwood wreath!
