2013 Christmas Home Tour

I really enjoyed decorating for Christmas this year.  This is the first year I’ve actually put effort into my Christmas decor and went with a specific theme.  It was fun thinking up ideas and bringing them to life!

And the best part is that I didn’t have to spend a ton of money to do so!  I used what I had that fit the theme, made a few things, and added fresh greens cut from my in-laws’ property to add a more realistic look to my decor.

I’m sharing my Christmas home tour here this year, too!

Okay, let’s get started!

My tree was so fun to put together!

I had so much fun making the garland and tag ornaments.

I also coordinated my gift wrap by using kraft paper, left over fabric, and twine.

Next to the Christmas tree is the couch where I display my wreath pillow.  It’s kind of festive without being too over-the-top-Christmas!

Across the living room is my pallet wall display.  I kept the pallet pretty simple with a couple printables and wire hangers.  (More on the Merry & Bright printable here!)

I kept with my theme by bringing in some more fresh greens and vintage books.

And in the bedroom, I just added a simple navy bow to our boxwood wreath.

Another favorite area in the house is my “fake” mantel.  The chalkboard art took a bit of trial and error, but it was totally worth the work!

This was my first time ever doing a tablescape.  I kept with the theme of neutrals and fresh greens.

And I got to show off my new plates!  :)

Allison I love all your decorating! It looks so Christmasy and wintery. Where did you get that grey chair/couch? I’ve been looking for a comfy grey chair or couch!!

Thanks Katie! It is the Ektorp couch from Ikea. We have the dark gray slip cover, but they have several other colors. We’ve had it for about a year and love it! Oh, and they do have the same model in a chair and love seat, too, I believe! :)
