When I was pregnant with our second daughter, we spent a good amount of time designing and fixing up her room. When it came to her closet, though, we threw a couple coats of white paint up, put in a closet organizer, and called it good. We didn’t really have any energy left for thinking through storage ideas for the closet, so we just put it off.
And then our daughter was born and the craziness of having a newborn began!
We soon were stuffing her closet full of all the clothes and supplies we had saved from when our first daughter was a baby. The closet quickly filled up and became very cluttered and disorganized!
It has been in this state for the last 4 months! But now that I’m finally starting to get used to being a mother of two, I decided it was time to tackle this project. This past week I headed to The Home Depot and picked up some storage containers to help me get started.
I used the organizers to store extra clothes in. We had saved all of our oldest daughter’s clothes in case we ended up having a second daughter one day. Fortunately, we had another beautiful baby girl. Unfortunately, our idea of storage back then was garbage bags, but this system works much better!
Isn’t that so pretty?! Much better than the garbage bags! I can see what’s inside because of that cool clear drop-down door and when baby girl starts growing out of her current clothing size, I can quickly and easily grab a few things out of the bin and move on to other, more important tasks like watching baby girl try her hardest to crawl!
And when I need to reload the bin, I can just take it down, take the top off and put more clothes in! Easy as that! I can really see the closet staying much cleaner this way. Plus, it makes me happy when I open the closet everyday and see it all organized. I’m one of those people that loves organized spaces, but has such a difficult time implementing it. Using these containers was so easy to do, I may have to buy more and start organizing the rest of the house!
The organizers are even stackable and easy to access when they’re stacked! They’d be great to use in the basement for long term storage that you still want to access. I can’t stand it when I have to pull heavy bins off of each other in our basement just to be able to get inside of them. The All Access Organizers totally change all that! Can you imagine getting out Christmas lights and ornaments without all the hassle?! Gives me a little peaceful feeling just thinking about it! 🙂
Unfortunately, we have teeny tiny closets, so I wasn’t able to stack my bins, but I did put a second bin full of clothes in our oldest daughter’s closet, too.
Thankfully her room is just across the hall, so it’s still super easy to get to!
