Little Yellow Rocker

First off, I want to start out by telling you all how grateful I am for the response to my herringbone dresser!  If you follow me on Facebook, you know I say that I feel “blessed” a lot lately.  I don’t mean to overuse the word and therefore devalue it.  I really just don’t even know a better word for it!  I can’t believe what a hugely positive response I got to that dresser and I am overwhelmed by all the comments, emails, and “likes” I’ve gotten on it!  It was a huge risk for me and your response definitely helps me to realize this is really my calling!  I’m loving it!
Ok, now onto today’s transformation!

My husband and I originally bought this chair for our daughter.  Here’s the before picture.

We actually bought it from Cari Cucksey of HGTV fame!  Cari has a show on HGTV called “Cash and Cari”, if you haven’t seen it, be sure to check it out.  She does estate sales, mostly in Michigan, and she finds the coolest stuff!  Cari has a shop where she sells some of her great finds and it’s about 20 minutes from our house.  We checked it out one fall weekend last year and it was so fun.  We even recognized some of her finds from the show that were displayed in her shop!

Cari also has a warehouse which is about 20 minutes from us in the other direction.  She often has warehouse sales and happened to be having one that weekend, so we stopped there next!  That’s where we found this cute little rocking chair!

We saw it and just had to have it!  We knew it had potential and thought it would be a fun addition to our daughter’s room!
Well, our daughter didn’t really seem to care too much for it and it just started getting in the way.  We don’t have a huge house, so space is limited, especially when it’s not being used in a good way!  So the other day I figured I’d just spruce it up with a little Annie Sloan Chalk Paint and send it on its way over to my new booth at the Town Peddler.  And ya know what?!  It sold today!  I just brought it over there two days ago and it sold today!  Hurray!  My first sale!  I’m so excited about it!  I feel like I can actually breathe a little bit now that I’ve sold something!  ;)

Here are a couple more photos of the chair.  I think it will make some little child very happy!

Hope you are all doing well!  We have been busy around here, but I hope to bring you more furniture transformations very soon!
